I met this guy 3 years ago at a party and I recently saw him at my work. He doesn't work with me he was just a customer and he invited me to go to mardi gras. Well I couldn't go that night so I found him on myspace and we started talking. The conversation is funny and flows easily. I invited him to go to the beach with me but he couldn't because he had classes all day but he asked for a rain check. So I kept coming up with ideas but apparently he was too busy for them all and he recently told me he wasn't over his ex, understandable, so should I keep talking to him hoping he'll get over her? Or should I just stop contact all together because it might go nowhere?

Just keep your distance a bit now %26amp; keep things platonic.

Don;t initiate any further things with him because if he's so into his ex still, then chances are nothing will come between you both until he has got through this.

Even if it did, it wouldn't really work while he's carrying a torch for his ex girlfriend still.

If I was you I'd just back off a little now, let him come to you %26amp; when he does talk to you keep it purely platonic.

If anything was to happen between you he would have to be over with his ex.

i think you should just stop talking to him and go on with life. if you start talking to him and you guys start to really get connected then who knows, he might go back to his ex and forget all about you..or you can just wait it out. tell him to get back to you once he knows for sure that he is over his ex. you know?

I would move on after 3years. He had time for mardi gras,where you'd get drunk and out of control.

Then after suggestions,he pops up with "he ain't over his ex".

I hope you've been hanging out with other friends and going other places in during this time.

If you like this guy as a friend and see the potential for more, I say be his friend. When the time is right he will make a move. In the meantime keep your options open, because it is possible he may get back with his ex.

What I would do is give it a couple more weeks, and keep doing the same thing you are doing....If this keeps going on and he keeps avoiding you, I would lay off for a while....you can always try competing with his ex, but don't give up yet!
