i got a new job and my boss keeps telling everyone hes in love with me. everytime i go to work a different person asks me if i like him back. he buys me things and recently he sent me a poem on myspace. i have to admit, it was pretty funny. he only schedules me when im in and he gives me spacial treatment and everyone is getting mad. how can i tell him that im not interested without it affecting our work relationship?

You need to tell him that you are not interested. It may affect your work relationship and it may not. He would be smart to not let it affect your relationship. He is in a position of power over you by being your boss, and he needs to call it quits. It is wildly inappropriate.

Tell him straight out that he's making you uncomfortable and that it needs to stop. If he doesn't go talk to his boss, or call a lawyer. He's breaking the law.

Tell him that you appreciate the poems and special treatment, but it is your policy to NEVER date anyone you work with - especially your boss. Things can get ugly if you date people you work with. Don't do it.. believe me!

Try the words "sexual harassment" that should stop him...it's not a joke, you should be comfortable in the workplace, not feel pressured or put in a place that is uncomfortable with your fellow co-workers.

That's not a good position to be in. If you tell him your not interested it could cost you your job. Been there myself.

I would start by making a copy of the myspace poem. Then I would get a notebook and write up a summary of what is going on. Each time there is a confrontation keep track of all the dates and times he has other people talk with you about him. And all the times he confronts you.

If this job is not important to you then move on to something else. If it is important too you stand your ground, he must have a boss you can go to.

heres how to go about making it stop:

i would first ask him nicely but firmly to stop explain to him how u feel, and that as much as he is nice, you would truly like him to stop.

if it continues, you could ask him again, depeding how u feel.

or you can report him for sexual harrasment, if you have an HR dept or phone line to call. or to the a person higher than him, or to the police. though i would go to the police as a last resource. if you speak to him and explain he will probably stop, and just make sure u speak nicely but firmly

Report him!!!!!!!! That's sexual harrassment. You should be getting mad at him instead of worrying about co-workers being mad at you. It's not your fault that the guy is a creep.
